How to find Website’s root directory in cPanel account?
Basically the root directory of a website is the substance that loads when any visitor access your website domain name via a web browser. Mostly to perform this you need to have index file in in your web page’s root directory in order to make your website accessible for all your visitors.
Other web page related applications and softwares might also require to be aware of the root directory of your website.
The root directory of your website mainly depends on even if the web domain is your main domain or anything else.
Example of Root directory:
The root directory of primary domain name is public_html, you can see it inside the cPanel of your hosting account.
The root directory for subdomains or secondary domains were stated when they were created. You can easily find then inside the cPanel.
Follow below steps to find secondary and Subdomain’s Root Directory using cPanel:
Login to cPanel using username and password provided.
You will be redirected to main page of cPanel.
Find domain section and hit either Subdomains or Addon Domains based on the type of domain you are using for your website.
Note: You can find directory in the Document Root field.
