Gift for a friend in Clash Royale

I want to surprise my friend on his birthday and send him gems in Clash Royale, but I don't have enough money to top up officially. Should I use LootBar so that the crystals appear in his game? I don't want to ruin the gift if they take half a day to arrive. Has anyone done this before?
