How to Restart your Windows based machine
There are 2 ways you can use to restart your Windows Dedicated server. A soft reboot/restart make use of the operating system’s restart process so that applications are shut down easily. A hard reboot/restart stops the instance and then restarts it, it is similar to turning a computer system off or on.
Restart Windows Dedicated Server Using RDP
The types of instructions you need to follow to restart your server depends on the version of Windows Server you are running your dedicated server.
Restart Windows 2008, 2012 & 2016
First of all you need to connect to your server using RDP (Remote Desktop)
From the start menu, hit Restart button.
On this step you need to choose an option and enter a comment
Click ok button.
You server will be restarted now.
Restart a Server using Command Prompt
To restart your Windows Dedicated server using command prompt, you need to launch command prompt as admin and run the following command. Make sure you are having admin access to the server.
shutdown /r /t /0
/r to Shutdown and restart the server.
/f to Force running applications to close without forewarning users on your server.
/c "comment" Writing Comment on the reason for the restart of your server.
