Nameservers as an important part of Domain Name System

Nameservers is one of the part of a Domain Name System. The DNS servers keeps the record of the domain name and keeps the information to which IP address it is connected. The Nameservers helps the user to use the domain name instead of an IP address. When a user types in the URL or domain name then the DNS server informs the web browser from which server it should load the content. In simple terms it can be said that Nameservers defines the DNS provider of a domain name.

Get the Details of the Nameserver

Once you are provided with an email of the login details of the web server. You will also be provided with the details of the Nameservers. Majority of the hosting providers uses their own DNS servers. To set up the Nameservers, you will have to login into the domain control panel and update the Nameservers by replacement of the old one.

Name Server

Name Server Module is used to allow websites to use domain names instead of IP addresses, which would be much harder to remember. A name server translates domain names into IP addresses. This makes it possible for a user to access a website by typing in the domain name instead of the website's actual IP address. For example, when you type in "" the request gets sent to demo site's nameserver which returns the IP address of the hostingraja site website.

Each domain name must have at least two name servers listed when the domain is registered. These name servers are commonly named and, where "servername" is the name of the server. The first server listed is the primary server, while the second is used as a backup server if the first server is not responding. Once you update with the name server it takes around 48 hours to get into reflecting, usually it takes 3 to 4 hours because it takes time for each DNS server to update other servers around the world about the change you made.The main advantage of using this module is you can change name server whenever you want and if do not want your domain to our name server you will be not able to use our web and email systems to configure your domain name, nor will you be able to use our hosting solutions.To check your name server details you can go to and enter your domain and submit.

Step By Step  details how name server process works:

Step1: Enter Domain name into the address bar of browser, for example,

Step2: Your System makes use of DNS to search the name servers for web address which you have written.

Step3: Let's say and are retrieved as the nameservers for the domain.

Step4: Your System requests for the IP address from the nameservers.

Step5: Once it’s gets submitted, your System sends a request to the IP address, including the exact page which you want to reach.

Step6: The web server hosting sends the requested page back to your web browser.
