Another easy way is by troubleshooting the WordPress error which is causing the problem, In a troubleshooting method the easiest way is by switching the themes so as to make a backup of the existing theme via an FTP, and then by removing the folders from /wp-content/themes/ except for the default theme. Here the WordPress will automatically reverted back to the default theme.

However if you are not having any backup you will not be required to revert back to the default theme. Here you will be able to change to the custom WordPress theme from the database by using the phpMy Admin.

Here is the process of changing the WordPress theme through phpMyAdmin

Here in this method you will be telling the WordPress which is the theme to be used by changing the information in the database. Here in this method to work, the theme you would like to switch must be already installed on the website.

You will be required to connect the website by using the FTP client and then go to the /wp-content/themes/ folders. Here you will be able to see all the themes which are currently installed on the website.

Here you need to write down the theme folder that you would like to switch to, as it will be required in the next step.

If the theme you would like to switch is to installed in the website of your wordpress hosting service then you can manually do it as well. Once the theme you would like is being installed in the website then you can go ahead and then change the theme via phpMyAdmin.

First and foremost thing is that you need to go to the cPanel dashboard of the Wordpress website hosting account, then you need to scroll down to the database section and then click on the phpMyAdmin.

Once you are in the phpMyAdmin, you will be able to see the list of databases which is on the left side of the screen, you simply need to click on the database which you are using for the WordPress website.

Now the list of the tables will be shown to you in the database. You just need to click on the ‘wp_options’ table upon it.

Here by default the WordPress database tables uses wp_option as as the prefix for the table names. However it is possible to see the different database prefix if you are on an administrator on the website which has changed the WordPress database prefix in the wordpress hosting package.

Once opening the table, you will be required to scroll down and locate the template and stylesheet rows.

Here the row editor will be opened where you will have to change the value for the option_value field for which the theme you would like to use. It will mainly be the same as the folder name that is in the /wp-content/themes/ folder.

After you have clicked the ‘Go’ button below for saving the changes. You will be required to repeat the process for the stylesheet row as well. After saving these changes you check your website and see if the new theme is available or not.
